Spring is a shifting season with action offshore tapering, but also inshore fishing for Rooster-fish, Jacks, Sierra and Black Skipjack starting up again in April and May.
The summer's warm water months are especially good for Sailfish and Blue & Black marlin offshore and peak for assorted species inshore from June through September. Mixed in with these species are Blue & Black marlin, some striped Marlin and Broadbill Swordfish. Offshore we find Wahoo, Snappers, Snook, Pompano, Trevally, Barracuda, Ladyfish, Grouper and also a wide variety of different families inshore.

Huatulco is becoming more and more well-known for its beautiful bays and spectacular fishing. Huatulco is very marlin-friendly as well a big population of billfish. Huatulco's tepid coastal waters are plentiful of game fish with a multitude of varieties. Offshore, the six-kilometre-deep Middle America Trench creates underwater turbulence which triggers food production also luring game fish to the Huatulco fishing region.
The Huatulco fishing area resides off of Mexico's Itsmo of Tehuantepec, with only about 240 kilometres of land segregating the Pacific Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico, at its smallest point.
The winter months bring in the cooler water which peaks in Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado or Mahi-Mahi, usually from December through March.
